LaJuan Flores is the Director and Title IX Coordinator for the Cleveland State University Office for Institutional Equity. In her current role, she is responsible for conducting investigations involving sexual violence, harassment and discrimination of students, faculty and staff. In addition to leading the initiatives surrounding consent (sexual violence) and compliance with federal and state laws, she is responsible for campuswide sexual violence response and prevention teams. She has worked in the field of human resources and compliance for 17 years in areas such as training and development, diversity management, employee engagement, labor relations and ethics/compliance. LaJuan holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Adult Education, certifications in Training & Technical Skills and Postsecondary Teaching from the University of Akron. She also has two senior level human resources certifications (SPHR and SCP-SHRM), ATIXA Certified and is a Transformative Mediator.
LaJuan has served as a subject matter expert at the City Club of Cleveland’s forum on “The Uncertain Future of Title IX” and has been a guest speaker at various public and private universities in Northeast Ohio around topics of Ethics, Sexual Violence Prevention, Clery reporting and the MeToo movement impact in higher education. She has authored and facilitated education modules (live classes, videos and created train-the-trainer sessions) in areas such as: Compliance, Ethics, Diversity, Conflict Resolution, Harassment Prevention, and Cultural Respect.
LaJuan works with the campus police to update and provide training on trauma-informed response and ensures understanding of Clery requirements for campus stakeholders. She is an advocate for domestic abuse and sexual violence prevention and awareness and has formed positive relationships with community partners who support that mission.
