Sokolow, J.D. to examine the recent shift from “Fondling” to “Criminal Sexual Contact” (CSC) under the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting definitions applicable to both Clery and Title IX. During this 60-minute webinar, we will focus on what this significant change means for institutional policies, training, reporting, and policy analysis. The panel will explore ATIXA’s stance on retaining “Fondling” as a term of art while acknowledging CSC in supporting documentation, and how schools can navigate potential confusion between Clery and Title IX language.
We will also discuss how the new definition could substantially increase the number of cases falling under the Title IX fondling umbrella, the key areas of analysis under the new definition, how that will impact findings and determinations, and provide practical advice as to next steps for your institution.
