What is a successful achievement you have had doing Title IX work?

Over the past two and a half years, I’ve successfully defined Bristol’s Title IX program as the college’s first coordinator. I’ve trained investigators, advisors and conducted over twenty investigations to completion, including two involving allegations of sexual abuse.

What is an ATIXA resource or tool that has aided you?

While I had a great deal of civil rights experience from years of private practice, ATIXA has been a godsend. The ATIXA materials on civil rights investigations, for instance, are invaluable regardless of one’s level of experience. The same can be said about ATIXA training.

What is one way you practice self-care doing such intense work?

I remind myself I’m doing something important for the common good to the best of my ability. I also make sure to spend time with loved ones. Hobbies and exercise help too.

What is one piece of advice you would offer your fellow practitioners?

Be diligent about keeping up with changes and trends in the law.
