Arla is a recent graduate from Ithaca College with a degree in Sports Media with a minor in Journalism. During her four years at the college, she was a member of the varsity field hockey and track & field teams, co-chair for Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), and president of its chapter of Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM). Arla is an advocate for student-athlete mental health and has worked with The Hidden Opponent as a Campus Captain for three years and is continuing her advocacy now as a Head Campus Captain as a graduate. However, she is most passionate about women’s sports and gender inequity and has interned with Women’s Sports Foundation and the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport, and plans to pursue a Master’s in Sport Sociology to continue to do research on gender inequity in sport.
