Dr. Fantini arrived in the United States 23 years ago as an international student/athlete. Since then, she has graduated with a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, a master’s degree in education – health and physical education, and bachelor’s degrees in physical education and sports management. Besides experience coaching collegiate soccer, teaching, academic program development, and serving as a department chair for science and mathematics, Dr. Fantini has served as a Title IX investigator for many years. Currently, Dr. Fantini is an Associate Teaching Professor of Physiology and the Director for the Exercise Clinic at Iowa State University. She serves as the Kinesiology and Health Department Diversity Committee Chair and represents the department on the College of Human Sciences Diversity, Equality, and Community Committee. She also serves as the Chair for the Outcomes Assessment Committee for the Faculty Senate. Dr. Fantini is a Certified Title IX investigator through ATIXA and a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. She also holds a Certification in Effective College Instruction through the Association of College and University Educators and the American Council on Education. Lastly, Dr. Fantini has Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Certification through the Cultural Intelligence Center. CQ is a globally recognized way of assessing and improving effectiveness in culturally diverse situations. This certification is rooted in rigorous academic research, and it has been conducted across more than 100 countries.
