Dr. Zakiya Brown is an experienced higher education professional with an extensive background in student affairs, diversity, equity and inclusion, and Title IX. Most recently, she served as the Vice President for Student Affairs, Chief Diversity Officer & Title IX Coordinator for Lincoln University of Missouri. Dr. Brown used trauma-informed cultural competency to implement Title IX compliance as Title IX Coordinator. She is an independent consultant and founder of Pivotal Growth Consulting, offering multi-service support for higher education institutions.
Dr. Brown received a bachelor’s in economics from Central State University, a master’s in education from Concordia University-Portland, and a doctorate in educational leadership – higher education administration from Northcentral University. Her dissertation examined how race impacted reporting behaviors among Black female collegians of historically Black institutions
